TOOLympics I: Competition on software testing

Abstract Research competitions and challenges are a driving force in transferring theoretical results into working software tools that demonstrate the state of art respective field research. Regular comparative evaluations provide guidance to practitioners have select new technology for their development process. In order support with an appropriate publication venue, theme issues International Journal on Software Tools Technology Transfer was created. This issue is inaugural newly introduced “Competitions Challenges” (CoCha). Test-Comp, Competition Testing, example tool competition, where research teams submit test-generation, competition evaluates assigns scores according achieved coverage. Test-Comp 2019 part TOOLympics event, which took place as 25-year celebration conference TACAS. Thus, it most natural start STTT-CoCha special describes participating systems 2019. There will be second contributions from other competitions.
